Group Visits
We welcome groups to the museum however we ask that you book in advance.
This is to help us to provide you with a visit that is enjoyable and one to remember.
The following can be included as part of your visit:
A printing workshop where you can handle and use original blocks.
DVD’s explaining The Textile Industry, William Morris and The River Wandle.
A Tour of the museum including talks on the displays of local interest in the museum:
- The Mills of the River Wandle
- The William Morris Works
- Merton Priory and Monastic Life
- Snuff Milling
- Arthur Liberty — models and original printing blocks
- The Surrey Iron Railway
- Mitcham Lavender
- Young’s Brewery
Worksheets can be provided if required.
The charge for group visits to the museum will be £40 per session.
All group visits need to be booked in advance.
Visits can be adapted to the children’s/individual’s needs and abilities. Leaders and teachers are encouraged to visit the Museum to discuss their requirements with the Staff. Please telephone the museum on 020 8648 0127 to make an appointment.
